Photoelectric smoke alarms work on the principles of LED which expands
light emitting code. The code is helpful in transmitting light beams
to the chamber contained in photoelectric smoke alarm.

there is a fire smoke enters the chamber .After the smoke enters the

electric wiring. The combustion particles are highly sensitive to
fires and dense smoke. Therefore as and when there is a fire or dense
smoke it will immediately sense and the alarm will be set on.
The fire alarm acts at the instigation of photoelectric smoke sensor.
The photoelectric smoke sensor will be stimulated to intimate the
fire alarm when there is excess light due to smoke between the devices
that emit and receive smokes. The light that is sent to the receiving
device is converted into digital quantity form. The converted digital
quantity is then stored into a memory circuit.
This is then converted into analog quantity and then a comparison
is done to find out if there are differences are beyond the permissible
limit. However if the change is due to other reasons like dust or
dirt the discrepancies are automatically ignored by the system.
It needs to be mentioned that this facility is available only in
the modern systems while conventional ones are devoid of the same.
Photoelectric smoke detectors work with the help of light emitting
code and a photocell. This photocell is will be fitted in the receiving
end. They will be set in a chamber which enjoys exposure to light
and which is not resistant to smoke. The smoke particles will find
their way to the chamber by way of a path that is too difficult
to travel through. The alarm will start functioning actively as
soon as there is surplus light.
Photoelectric smoke alarms will work very effectively because large
particles are very helpful in transmitting light from LED. It is
not too be mistaken that they will work only for the case of large
particles. On the contrary they are also very helpful in finding
out small fire outbreaks of small quantum like those caused by a
cigarette or caused on a mat. This happens to be tone of the main
reason for the photoelectric sensor functioning better and faster
than an ionization device.
